EGGS Serious Game – Learn how to prevent food waste!
- On 15/01/2021
We are glad to announce our participation in the development of EGGS Serious Game! EGGS (StudEnts fight food and packaging waste throuGh entrepreneurial education and Game-baSed learning) is a European project funded under the framework of Erasmus+ programme and it aims to increase the sense of initiative and the entrepreneurial spirit of students (11-15 years old) in order to foster their scholastic engagement, their sense of responsibility and improve their digital competences.
By playing EGGS’ online game, students will not only learn about food waste, water waste, labelling and recycling, but they will also complete tasks that can be replicated in the real world. In this way, students will learn by doing, making a real difference in their local communities.
The game is designed like a “Point & Click” adventure. The user will interact with other characters in three different real-life scenarios (at school, in the kitchen and at a local store), where he will have to face several tasks related to ecological issues. By talking with other people and completing his tasks, the player will unlock tips on how to reduce food and water waste and he will receive points for taking the right decisions. The total score reached at the end of the game will summarize the positive impact that the player’s actions had on making a better world!
The game is currently being tested by the project’s consortium, and it will be presented in schools from March 2021.
