Social innovations are practices that intend to reach social needs. They are new solutions that aim to transform the social system in a better way. The social innovations can be present in any sort of system such as organization, institution, education, health, management of a company and more.
The main goal of social innovation is to conceive new processes to achieve goals. It can refer to the:
- implementation of modern digital tools to learn in a classroom,
- integration of a method of management for a society,
- development of a cloud to save the data of an enterprise.
The European project Hillary‘s purpose is to “integrate the entrepreneurial education model to encourage the employability “. Likewise, it wishes to support female students in the sectors of education, humanities, and social science to enter the professional world. This innovation is crucial to help students increase their business awareness, to give them the chance to develop their social enterprise.

The European Commission is active in the use of social innovation. The objective is to “encourage market uptake of innovative solutions and stimulate employment”. The European Commission is supporting the social innovation in different areas such as networking, incubation, ecosystem and more.
According to the need of the institution, social innovations can have different definitions and ways to be established. However, their purpose is to bring new practices in social services, life, and societies. They do not necessarily need to be a creation. Yet, they have to be new to a system, to produce evolution and to rise the society.
