The European Commission is active in the use of social innovation. The objective is to “encourage market uptake of innovative solutions and stimulate employment”. The European Commission is supporting the social innovation in different areas such as networking, incubation, ecosystem and more.
According to the need of the institution, social innovations can have different definitions and ways to be established. However, their purpose is to bring new practices in social services, life, and societies. They do not necessarily need to be a creation.
